The Taiko Bank Adopts TOPPAN FORMS’ Electronic Housing Loan Application Service
-FastEntry, a service that digitalizes the application process without changing the workflow of paper applications-

June 23, 2017

DigitalHybrid Company TOPPAN FORMS CO., LTD. (TOPPAN FORMS, hereunder) is pleased to announce that FastEntry, a service that easily digitalizes the application process without changing the workflow of conventional paper applications, has been adopted by The Taiko Bank, Ltd. (Taiko Bank, hereunder), which operates at 70 locations mainly in Niigata Prefecture, for housing loan applications. Taiko Bank is the first bank to introduce FastEntry. According to Taiko Bank, FastEntry is appreciated by its users, who said, “I feel comfortable because it has reduced the burden of inputting information.” In response, Taiko Bank is considering introducing the service for other application forms as well.

Background

When an individual applies for housing loans at Taiko Bank, they can have their application screened by two credit guarantee companies and select whichever offers more favorable terms. The application for screening is submitted two times, one for the preliminary application and one for the full application. To have an application screened by two companies, two copies of the application form need to be filled in for the preliminary application and another copy for the full application. Each form requires a large amount of fields to be filled in. It can take nearly two hours to complete the process using a paper application form, due in part to the repeated writing of personal information, such as names and addresses. This made the reduction of the burden of input a great challenge. On the FastEntry screen, which generates the web version of a form based on print data, the user can enter information as if they were entering information on a paper form. They can minimize the amount of information to be entered using the copy function. Instructions on what information to enter at each step are displayed on the screen. The user can enter the right information by following the instructions. Revisions to the application form are reflected automatically on the web version, eliminating the need to manage multiple media separately.

Features of FastEntry

  • 1. The obtained data can be embedded in the existing workflow via a server (without having to change the workflow).
  • 2. The entry screen is generated based on print data, allowing the user to input information as if filling in a paper version.
  • 3. Because the web version is generated based on print data, revisions to the form are automatically reflected.
  • 4. The displayed contents are optimized for the terminal, which makes the content eye-friendly and facilitates entry.
  • 5. Use of various support features simplifies user's application process.

Future development

TOPPAN FORMS will encourage Taiko Bank to introduce FastEntry to other application processes as well. The company will also strive to promote the sales of FastEntry for use by financial institutions that find it necessary to reduce the burden of information input for housing loan applications, as in the case of Taiko Bank, applications for credit card point programs and other processes.
