DigitalHybrid Company TOPPAN FORMS CO., LTD. (“TOPPAN FORMS,” hereafter) is pleased to announce that on March 22, it was jointly selected by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (“METI,” hereafter) and the Tokyo Stock Exchange (“TSE,” hereunder) as a Nadeshiko Brand Company, which recognizes the distinguished efforts taken to promote female advancement in the workplace to achieve operating results. This marks the fifth consecutive year TOPPAN FORMS has been selected under the brand.

TOPPAN FORMS Initiatives

TOPPAN FORMS has positioned the Development of a Fulfilling Workplace as one of the key pillars of its management strategy. TOPPAN FORMS promotes Diversity & Integration and has worked to develop an environment in which diverse value created based on a wide range of viewpoints and specialties to realize a work-life balance by self-government between labor and management. TOPPAN FORMS will increase its responsiveness as an organization by making use of its diverse human resources with a wide range of strengths aiming to maximize performance for sustainable growth. TOPPAN FORMS will continue to work to develop a fulfilling workplace by promoting diversity management and health-oriented management as well as promoting measures to encourage more male employees to take childcare leave.

About Nadeshiko Brand Program (Excerpt from Official METI Website)

METI and TSE have been jointly undertaking the Nadeshiko Brand Program, which aims to select and publicize companies excelling in the promotion of female advancement in the workplace since its inauguration in fiscal 2012.
The Nadeshiko Brand Program aims to introduce publicly listed companies excelling in the promotion of female advancement to investors who place importance on medium-to-long-term improvements in corporate value, thereby encouraging investment in these companies and accelerating similar efforts on the part of all companies.

Specific measures

  • 1. The implementation of initiatives for urging superiors with subordinates raising children to understand systems and share awareness
  • (1) Initiatives for superiors with female subordinates who take maternity and child-rearing leave
    TOPPAN FORMS organizes meetings for concerned employees, their superiors and the official in charge of diversity prior to the acquisition of maternity and child-rearing leave as well as prior to the employees’ return to work. TOPPAN FORMS facilitates raising awareness about future career development by explaining the systems for making work and childcare compatible for employees and offering chances to discuss work styles with their superiors after returning to work.
    Furthermore, TOPPAN FORMS sponsors a course of lectures for superiors with female subordinates raising children, offering the opportunity for them to learn how to communicate with and manage those subordinates.

  • (2) Initiatives for superiors with male subordinates eligible for child-rearing leave
    TOPPAN FORMS implements initiatives for superiors to urge their male subordinates who just became fathers to take more child-rearing leave. TOPPAN FORMS supports the development of an environment in which the acquisition of child-rearing leave is simple by promoting understanding about the available systems and normalizing workloads on the occasion of child-rearing leave acquisition by the official in charge of diversity.

  • 2. Introduction and implementation of a flexible working system
    TOPPAN FORMS is promoting telework, including working from home and remote mobile working, in a bid to realize a flexible working system. Moreover, TOPPAN FORMS is assisting the formation of diverse career paths by incrementally expanding systems related to work-life balance, including the application of flextime and discretionary work systems, the shortening of prescribed working hours for child-rearing and nursing care and the establishment of inter-job intervals.
