Five financial companies—JCB Co., Ltd. (President & Chief Executive Officer: Ichiro Hamakawa), Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd. (President: Shinichi Hirose), Nippon Life Insurance Company (President: Hiroshi Shimizu), Nomura Securities Co., Ltd. (Representative Director and President: Toshio Morita), and MUFG Bank, Ltd. (President and CEO: Kanetsugu Mike)— and TOPPAN FORMS CO., LTD. (President: Koichi Sakata) concluded an agreement to consider building a platform for standardized procedures across the financial companies.

On this new platform, the companies will connect “+Message,” a service provided by NTT DOCOMO INC., KDDI Corp. and Softbank Corp. (hereinafter “three mobile-phone carriers”), to offer services for safe, secure and convenient notification/procedures between customers and companies.

This project aims to standardize operations and clerical work, such as procedures for change of address, which commonly arise between the five financial companies and customers. It is in the non-competitive field among the five companies and will improve convenience for customers. The companies reached an agreement to commence consideration for this project in which by integrating the user interfaces through “+Message,” a variety of procedures commonly required by each financial company will be simplified, reducing the burden for customers, and at the same time, the business efficiency of each company will increase.

This platform for standardized procedures to be considered by the companies is open-platform oriented and can be used by all financial companies. When the basic design is completed, the companies plan to ask a wide range of financial companies in Japan to join in its use. TOPPAN FORMS will manage and operate the platform for standardized procedures in addition to the personal information of customers, including sending, receiving and using data safely.

The five financial companies and TOPPAN FORMS will work to build this platform for standardized procedures to enhance convenience for customers and improve the efficiency of society.

A message service that is compliant with Rich Communication Services (RCS), GSMA’s global standard. To enable customers to send and receive messages confidently without being aware of the mobile-phone carrier of the message recipient, the three mobile-phone carriers launched “+Message” in May 2018 to allow users to send and receive messages using only a mobile phone number for productive communication.
