TOPPAN FORMS and livepass to Start Study for Providing Message Distribution Solution Supporting + Message

DigitalHybrid Company TOPPAN FORMS CO., LTD. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Koichi Sakata; hereinafter “TOPPAN FORMS”) and livepass Inc. (Head Office: Minato, Tokyo; CEO: Yuya Yamashita; hereinafter “livepass”), a marketing service provider, are to begin examining the possible support of “+ Message”*, a message service provided by NTT DOCOMO, INC., KDDI Corporation, and SoftBank Corporation, via a message distribution solution that uses technology for producing and distributing personalized videos.
By combining + Message with the technology for producing and distributing personalized videos capable of variably displaying individually customized text, content, and other features, we aim to realize a highly appealing message distribution solution.


The two companies concluded a capital and business alliance agreement in October 2018 for the purpose to develop and offer and offering highly appealing video communication services using a combination of TOPPAN FORMS technologies and knowhow for safely managing and operating information such as personal information, accumulated through its data print service (DPS), and livepass personalized video technologies. Further, in March 2019, TOPPAN FORMS made an additional investment in livepass and livepass became a TOPPAN FORMS’s equity method affiliated company to further accelerate the above initiative.
At this time, in response to an announcement on the functional enhancement of + Message, we are to begin examining the development of a message distribution solution on + Message, using the personalized video technology.

Future development

TOPPAN FORMS and livepass will proceed with taking specific responses immediately after details of the functional enhancement of + Message, such as its specifications, are clarified.
In addition, we will accelerate the development of the message distribution solution to realize optimal communication between customers and corporations, mainly for financial institutions, and to reduce corporations’ call center costs. Further, by developing not only the message distribution solution but also the personalized video service with an eye toward the use of 5G, which is expected to see widespread use, we will make further contributions toward corporations’ achievement of efficient business operations and improvments in user convenience.

  • * “+ Message” is a message service compliant with Rich Communication Services (RCS), GSMA’s global standard. To enable customers to send and receive messages confidently without being aware of the mobile-phone carrier of the message recipient, the three mobile-phone carriers launched “+Message” in May 2018 to allow users to send and receive messages using only a mobile phone number for productive communication.
