TOPPAN FORMS OPERATION Concludes an Agreement on Hiring Vietnamese IT Personnel with FPT Japan

March 14, 2017

TOPPAN FORMS OPERATION CO., LTD. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Nobuhiko Koyama; TFO, hereunder), a TOPPAN FORMS Group company that provides IT services, such as consulting on system operation and personnel dispatching, concluded an agreement on accepting IT personnel from Vietnam with FPT Japan Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Tran Dang Hoa; FPT Japan, hereunder), the Japanese branch of FPT Software, a leading Vietnamese IT company.
TFO jointly constructed a framework with FPT Japan which would execute operations outsourced by customers as a member of TFO’s system operation team after TFO conduct practical collective education for IT services based on its year-long accumulation of operational know-how for IT personnel hired from Vietnam. Through this framework, TFO will further strengthen the provision of its flagship seamless high-quality year-round, 24/7 IT services. As its first project, TFO began to accept eight IT human resources from Vietnam.

TFO, which has a wide range of customers, such as in manufacturing and distribution as well as financial circles, including banking, securities and life and nonlife insurance, has engaged in providing stable and efficient IT services for forty years, including consulting on system operations.
In recent years, the domestic IT market has been rapidly expanding amid the development of cloud-based services and IoT. In this situation, companies are increasingly required to secure greater stability and flexibility in the area of IT services to properly address detailed customer needs, which are constantly changing, maintaining consistency between customer operations and IT. On the other hand, the demand for labor is strong in the domestic labor market against the background of declining birthrates and this tendency is particularly noticible in the IT sector. TFO also faces the urgent challenge of securing a stable pool of necessary IT personnel and has considered expanding its procurement of human resources to foreign countries. Based on this recognition, TFO decided to partner with FPT Japan and agreed on building a framework of accepting Vietnamese IT personnel who can work in Japan.

Future development

TFO will gradually expand its acceptance of Vietnamese IT personnel with the aim of achieving one hundred human resources in the next three years. In addition, TFO will also develop markets to provide its IT services in emerging economies, especially the Asian region that is noticeably growing, jointly with FPT Japan and will also create new businesses at home and abroad.
